Sarah & Hagar
In this message, “Sarah & Hagar,” from our series “Abraham: Journey of Faith,” Pastor Seth Drewry walks through Genesis 16 and the fallout of Abraham and Sarah’s decision to “help” God keep His promise. Pastor Seth shows how trying to be our own god—trusting our own desires, taking shortcuts, and stepping outside God’s Word—always leads to broken relationships, regret, and long-term consequences.
From Sarah’s impatience to Abraham’s compromise, and Hagar’s pain as a mistreated servant, we see both sides of the story: those who created the mess and those who were deeply wounded by it. Yet Pastor Seth reminds us that the story doesn’t end in failure. God still kept His promise to Abraham and Sarah in His perfect timing, proving that our mistakes do not cancel God’s faithfulness.
