But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days. Therefore he shall give them up until the time when she who is in labor has given birth; then the rest of his brothers shall return to the people of Israel. And he shall stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God. And they shall dwell secure, for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth. And he shall be their peace.

The word "Bethlehem" in Hebrew literally means, "House of Bread."
Jesus said, "I am the bread of life" (John 6:35).
How fitting that the Bread of Life was born in the city known as the House of Bread. God pays attention to the details. He meticulously meets our needs and works His power in our lives. He leaves no loose ends when He fulfills his plans.
This scripture also promises that God's Messiah will be a great shepherd who rules in strength. This shepherd is good. He takes good care of His sheep. He ensures their safety and their sustenance. He keeps an ever-watchful eye on his flock, ensuring their peace.
Today, remind yourself (your thoughts, your emotions, you fears) that you are fed by the Bread of LIfe and you are protected by the Good Shepherd.
